We advise, with great sadness, that Fruit Salad Farm was
destroyed by the terrible bushfires that raged through Marysville on 7
February 2009. Whilst the proprietors, Jeffrey and Patricia Jennings
managed to get out safely, their son Patrick who was the chef, and his
partner Geoff Grady who was business manager, perished in the fire.
Jeffrey and Patricia are currently being cared for by the Grady family
supported by family from interstate.
The Grady and Jennings families have agreed they would like a book produced on the history of the Fruit Salad Farm, which began as tearooms around 1930.The Jennings family records and photos were also destroyed in the fire. They would be most grateful to receive copies of photographs of Fruit Salad Farm from its earliest to most recent days and stories about people's visits. No story is too short or too long.
